Recreation:
The purpose of this program is to promote the social gathering of the Somali families in Edmonton. Through this program SCCSE members meet with the newly arrived Somalis to exchange ideas, socialize, and share ethnic dishes.
Indoor/Outdoor Sports
This is a recreational activity designed for the community's children and adults. It consists of indoor and outdoor games.
In the winter time the community with the help of Edmonton city facilities and the Alrashid Mosque organizes indoor soccer and basketball for the children, youth and the adults.
Every summer the community organizes outdoor soccer for all ages.
Community Events
This is another program of fun and physical activities. SCCSE organizes Eid festivals, picnics, and other community events for the Somalis in Edmonton and vicinity. Every summer we go to the Edmonton parks and have a barbeque with different activities.
