Somali-Canadian Cultural Society of Edmonton
Community Background
The Somali Canadian Cultural Society of Edmonton (SCCSE) was established as a non-profit organization in 1991 and incorporated in March 2001. The purpose of the organization is to meet the needs of the Somali community in Edmonton and its surroundings.
SCCSE is committed to provide many programs and services to the community. These services include social, educational, recreational, cultural and religious activities.
Mission
To foster a vibrant and well being of Somali Community in Edmonton.
Goals
By promoting and developing the community’s traditional values and sense of belonging, SCCSE will develop programs based upon the needs of the community.
By providing guidance and sound foundations, SCCSE will build the community’s capacity to cope with the ever-changing issues facing the community.
